What is a Merchant Mariner Credential physical?
A merchant mariner credential (MMC) is a type of credential that is issued by the United States Coast Guard that is aimed at evaluating ones physical condition for all members of a crew on a U.S. ship or vessel that requires a licencesd Master or Operator. Anyone seeking to work on a vessel will require a Merchant Mariner physical before working on any type of commerical vessel.
How do Coast Guard Physicals work?
Anyone seeking to be a crew member on a U.S. ship or vessel must complete a coast guard physical, sometimes called a mariner medical certificate. The application for a Mariner Medical Certificate is required for all Mariners. The application must be completed withing 12 months. The applications are listed below and can be done at our facility.
